Pete Doherty's Blood Paintings On Show in London
English musician, actor and artist Pete Doherty will be lining up his new artworks and personal belongings for an exhibtiion in Camden,London.
The show "On Blood: The Portrait of an Artist" takes place at 205 Royal College St., Camden, and is open to the public from February 26 to March 12, between the hours of 12 and 8 p.m.
The curator of the gallery, Rachel Chudley, described the exhibits as an "Aladdin's cave of belongings". Rachel said she was given access to his belongings and to choose whatever was required for the exhibition. According to Rachel, Pete's collection includes rare records, Tony Hancock rarities, The Beatles posters, tunics, guitars, a taxidermy collection, huge flags and a full Subbuteo team.
As for the artwork on display, the former Libertines' co-frontman actually used his own blood to create the paintings. Perhaps more disturbingly, is the fact that there are also pieces of art contributed by Doherty's friends, including the late Amy Winehouse; not only did she use her own blood to paint herself but that was alongside the word "ladylike".

"It's a really old one that (is) supposed to be The Libertines, but I don't know who did the sketch of me, which really annoys me. Who drew me? It's very colourful... Judge Glenn Berman said Tuesday that most of the roughly 190 prospective jurors who filled out questionnaires last week said they had heard about the case.
He dismissed those Middlesex County residents who indicated that they had made up their minds.
Roommate of gay Rutgers student reportedly sent him conciliatory texts
Also on Tuesday, Berman fixed an error that could have had an impact on the trial: A hindering apprehension charge was changed from a third-degree crime to a second-degree crime.
Normally, that technical change would mean that a defendant who's found guilty would likely face a prison sentence. But Berman said he could still view that charge as a third-degree crime for sentencing purposes if Ravi is found guilty of it. He said he would decide that issue later if he needs to.
Charged with invasion of privacy, not with death
Ravi has not been charged with causing Clementi's death. Instead the main charge is invading Clementi's privacy, which is unlikely to result in prison time for a first offender. For a hate crime conviction, which carries a sentence of up to five to 10 years, prosecutors must prove Ravi attempted to intimidate Clementi for being gay. Ravi also faces related charges of tampering with witnesses and evidence.
Ravi has pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and has rejected a plea deal with prosecutors that could have helped him avoid a prison sentence. Instead he now risks up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
"Most hate crimes are committed against strangers, not against roommates or against good friends or neighbors," Jack Levin, a professor of criminology at Northeastern University, said in an interview.
Successful prosecutions typically rely on racial or homophobic slurs made as the crime is committed, graffiti left at the scene, the possession of hateful propaganda by the offender, or an offender's previous history of hate crimes.
"In this case there apparently are none of those indicators to be found," Levin said. "It doesn't sound like a very strong case."
On Sept. 19, 2010, Clementi had arranged to have a man in his mid-20s identified in court only as M.B. to come over, and asked Ravi if he would leave the room. Ravi agreed. He went to the room of Molly Wei, a friend across the corridor, and used her computer to access his webcam through video-chatting software.
Wei later told investigators Ravi was alarmed at having to leave his room for a visit from an unknown older man and wanted to know what was going on. She said they saw images of Clementi kissing M.B., and, shocked, turned the video feed off within seconds. Ravi posted a message on his Twitter account:
"Turned on iChat and saw my roommate making out with a dude. Yay."
Defense points to Clementi's jokes
To secure the bias intimidation conviction, prosecutors will need to convince a jury Ravi invaded Clementi's privacy and that he did so to intimidate him because he was gay.
Ravi's lawyers have pointed to transcripts of Ravi's online conversations with friends showing that, after the gossip value of discovering his roommate's sexuality has apparently faded, he concludes that Clementi being gay is "no big deal."
Ravi's lawyers have said in court documents there is no evidence Clementi was intimidated by Ravi's actions. He was open about his sexuality with friends and had come out to his parents, according to Clementi's chat transcripts.
After learning from Ravi's Twitter post he had been seen on the webcam, Clementi said in an online chat with a friend he felt "violated" at first, but soon after joked about the incident, saying he found it "sooo funny," and laughed when the friend suggested it could be considered a hate crime.
Nonetheless, he filed a formal request to switch roommates and posted his concerns on an Internet forum for gay men, which prosecutors are likely to point to as evidence he felt intimidated.
Even after realizing his encounter with M.B. had been briefly viewed by Ravi, Clementi invited M.B. back to his room two days later and again asked Ravi to excuse himself, although this time he was careful to make sure Ravi's computer was unplugged.

It?s a daydream that former Alexandria resident Richard Allen Pettibone, 44, almost made a reality. But the money he used to fuel his dreams -- $1.5 million -- wasn't his.
Pettibone stole the money in a Ponzi scheme from his investment clients in Springfield, Lorton and Sterling, he acknowledged last week in a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney's office.
Pettibone was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison for mail fraud.

I?ve talked to a lot of people this past year about embracing their Inner Court Card. We do an exercise in some of my groups where we choose a future court card that exhibits qualities that we want to embrace ~ but for some reason we are not quite there yet, and we are not quite ready to move forward. Usually it?s because we are scared.
When I did this exercise around last May or June, I chose the Queen of Wands from the Gilded Tarot as my future card. And let me tell you, this lady scared the BeJeezus out of me!
When I saw this Queen, I thought, ?There?s no way I could ever do all of the amazing things she does!? Then I wrote down some of the things that she could do, but that I couldn?t do, such as:
~ writing a book
~ leading workshops and classes without worry or fear
~ writing and publishing magazine articles
~ stepping up in her business community and asking people to be a part of something bigger
~ talking to her heroes
~ taking on one-on-one clients
~ believing in herself
These are some of the qualities and things that I wanted to do, and honestly I thought it would take me YEARS to get there. But with the help of some exercises and some hard work, I feel like I can honestly say that I have accomplished many of these goals!
This past year I:
~ wrote my own book and turned it into a self-published book and video series; I am currently writing another book to submit to a traditional publisher
~ lead several workshops and classes without fear. When I was told that one workshop needed to be 3 hours instead of 1 (the day before it was scheduled) because someone had cancelled, my response was, ?Cool. I can totally do that. It?ll be fun!? I couldn?t believe that I really felt that way.
~ I?ve written and been published several on-line magazines. I now have a regular feature in one of them.
~ I arranged the Purpose, Passion, and Profits Business Training Series as well as the Free Tarot Valentine?s Day GiveAway
~ I fairly regularly chat with Barbara Moore and Theresa Reed on Facebook. I can?t wait to meet them in person. One of these days I will corner Mary K. Greer at a convention. 
~ I regularly hold private conversations and coaching with clients on a one-on-one basis. This was a HUGE fear for me. I have always loved speaking to large groups rather than one person. It?s a numbers thing. If you are speaking to 40 people, at least a couple of them will like you, but if you?re only talking to one person, you?ve only got a 50/50 shot!
~ I completely believe in myself now. Sure, I have some down days here and there. Who doesn?t? But I have a plan for my business, a plan to become a traditionally-published author, a plan to host my own new radio blog show, and a plan to make 6 Figures a year.
So why am I telling you all of this? Because it was the act of embracing my inner court card ~ the person who I wanted to become, even though I thought she was so terribly out of reach, that helped me reach every one of these goals last year. And you can do this, too.
Find the court card you most want to be like. Write down all of the qualities that person possesses. Write down all of the things they do, like public speaking, writing, or networking. Write down some real, tangible things that person can do: write and publish 3 magazine articles, meet 4 new possible clients, attend a network lunch.
Then start taking steps toward those things. Pretty soon, you will look back and be amazed at how far you have come.
As for me, my Queen of Wands has served me well, but I feel like it is time to move on, to embrace another Court Card and another aspect of myself. It is time to evolve once again. So I am choosing:
The King of Pentacles. I?m ready to really get through some of my issues around money, and the blocks I have around money.
I?ve been working on this for some time, and I think I?m ready to move forward and embrace that abundance.
And it scares the BeJeezus outta me!
In fact, that?s one way that I know this is truly the next card I need to work with. I literally tear up looking at it. When choosing between the Queen of Pentacles and the King of Pentacles, I went with the King because I like the way he?s chillin? on his throne. Plus, he?s wearing purple tights ~ how cool is that?
Honestly, though, the sky is dark behind him and the moon is out, suggesting a balance with his feminine side, as well as the ability to listen to his intuition and Inner Guidance.
So what are some things this King does? I?ll be writing some of those down over the next few days, as long as some real-World stuff that he would accomplish.
Now some people ask me, how do you get from where you are to where you want to be? When you are really scared, and that future seems so distant and so far away, how can you really get there?

Your Knight can help you take baby steps to reach your goal. If you can?t be the Queen or the King yet, you can still be a Knight, and start making your way there.
So embrace your Inner Court Cards and go out there and slay your dragons!

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) ? Move over, coffee and Red Bull. A Harvard professor thinks the next big thing will be people inhaling their caffeine from a lipstick-sized tube. Critics say the novel product is not without its risks.
The product, called AeroShot, went on the market late last month in Massachusetts and New York, and is also available in France. A single unit costs $2.99 at convenience, mom-and-pop, liquor and online stores.
Biomedical engineering professor David Edwards said AeroShot is safe and does not contain common additives, like taurine, used to amplify the caffeine effect in common energy drinks. Each grey-and-yellow plastic canister contains 100 milligrams of caffeine powder, about the amount in a large cup of coffee, plus B vitamins.
But Democratic U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer of New York wants the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to review AeroShot, saying he fears it will be used as a club drug so that young people can drink until they drop. Schumer's national press secretary did not immediately respond to calls for comment.
FDA spokeswoman Siobhan DeLancey declined to comment, saying the agency will respond directly to Schumer on the matter.
Edwards said Schumer's comments are understandable in the context of developments over the last few years, when students looking for a quick and cheap buzz began consuming caffeine-packed alcoholic drinks they dubbed "blackout in a can" because of their potency. But he said AeroShot is not targeting anyone under 18 and it safely delivers caffeine into the mouth, just like coffee.
"Even with coffee ? if you look at the reaction in Europe to coffee when it first appeared ? there was quite a bit of hysteria," he said. "So anything new, there's always some knee-jerk reaction that makes us believe 'Well, maybe it's not safe.'"
Once a user shoots a puff of calorie-free AeroShot into his or her mouth, the lemon-lime powder begins dissolving almost instantly. Each single-use container has up to six puffs.
"The act of putting it in your mouth is the act of breathing ? so it's sort of surprising and often people the first time they take the AeroShot, they laugh ... that it's kind of a funny way of putting food in your mouth," said Edwards, who also came up with a breathable chocolate product a few years back.
Dr. Lisa Ganjhu, a gastroenterologist and internal medicine doctor at New York-based St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, said people need to be aware of how much caffeine they are ingesting.
"You want those 10 cups of coffee, it will probably take you a couple hours to get through all that coffee with all that volume that you are drinking," Ganjhu said. "With these inhale caffeine canisters you can get that in 10 of those little canisters ? so you just puff away and you could be getting all of that within the hour."
Even the product packaging warns people not to consume more than three AeroShots per day.
Northeastern University students who sampled the product recently gave it mixed reviews.
"This tastes really good and I think it rocks," student Zack Huang said after puffing onto a free sample before rushing to join a group of friends who were walking away from campus.
Still, one student was not happy with the taste, echoing sentiment expressed online by some consumers.
People elsewhere vowed they would never give up their morning coffee.
"I want to brew it, I want to stir it and I want to drink it slowly as I absorb the caffeine," said longtime coffee fan Mark Alexander.
The makers of AeroShot appear to be aware of that sentiment, declaring that the product isn't about switching away from coffee, but rather making it easier for people with active lifestyles to get their caffeine fix.
"AeroShot can be used in a variety of settings inconvenient for liquids, such as when you study in the library, board an airplane or get into the car for a long drive," they say in the section dedicated to frequently asked questions on their website. "It's easy to take AeroShot with you when you go biking, skiing, curling, or any other activity that consumes energy."
AeroShot, manufactured in France and the flagship product of Cambridge-based Breathable Foods Inc., is the product of a conversation that Edwards had with celebrity French chef Thierry Marks over lunch in the summer of 2007.
"We were discussing what interesting culinary art experiments we might do together and I had the idea that we might breathe foods since I've done a lot of work over the last 10 or 15 years on medical aerosols," Edwards said.
The first venture Edwards worked on with Harvard students was the breathable chocolate, called Le Whif. Now he's preparing to promote a product called Le Whaf, which involves putting food and drinks in futuristic-looking glass bowls and turning them into low-calorie clouds of flavor.
