Reese Witherspoon is shooting her new movie, "The Good Lie," in Atlanta, but you'd be forgiven if you didn't recognize the star. Her familiar blonde locks have been dyed dark brown.

Reese Witherspoon as a blonde at the Oscars in February, and as a brunette on the set of her new movie in April.
Witherspoon has sported this darker look for a few weeks now, and it's quite a change from her familiar sunny hue. But it's not the first time she's changed her hair color for a role. One of her most famous recent parts, that of country singer June Carter Cash, required a brunette look, too.
In "The Good Lie," Witherspoon plays an American who befriends a refugee (Arnold Oceng) from the Sudanese Civil War. According to Deadline.com, Oceng's character and three friends win a lottery that relocates them to the U.S., and Witherspoon's character is assigned to help them. Ron Howard is among the producers. The film will also shoot in Africa, and is expected to be released in December.
