Remains of the Day: HBO GO May Come to The Unsubscribed Masses

HBO toys with the idea of letting non-subscribers in on HBO GO, the latest Firefox Nightly build comes with a Javascript boost, T-Mobile is testing LTE in nine cities, and a host of Windows 8 apps may have updates inbound.

• HBO CEO Mulls Teaming With Broadband Partners for HBO GO HBO may finally be considering making its streaming service HBO GO available to customers who don't already subscribe to the channel. At this week's Game of Thrones Premiere event, CEO Richard Plepler stated that, while the company believes the current model is the right one, "HBO GO, with our broadband partners, could evolve?we would have to make the math work." • asm.js in Firefox Nightly OdinMonkey, and asm.js optimization module for Firefox's JavaScript engine, is now included in Firefox Nightly builds. The module will bring the browser's Javascript speed up to 2x native performance, and will ship with Firefox 22 this June. [Mozilla]
• Pre-Launch Details of T-Mobile's New LTE Network T-Mobile has begun testing its LTE network in nine different cities, which suggests the first locations to have T-Mobile's LTE turned on include Seattle, Denver, Las Vegas, New Orleans, New York City, San Diego, Kansas City, and San Jose. • Microsoft Expected to Update its Full Suite of Built-In Windows 8 Apps Microsoft is rumored to have a large number of updates inbound for first-party Windows 8 and RT apps. Some of the apps listed by tipsters are Sky Drive, Xbox LIVE Games, Bing, and Photos. Microsoft hasn't commented on the matter, and it's unclear when the updates could roll out. [ZDNet]
